The civilian pathway
Entry depends on the state and hiring agency, not simply a trade-school certificate. Florida generally requires approved basic recruit training or an authorized exemption, the state certification exam and employment requirements. Federal roles follow their agency vacancy rules. Veterans’ preference depends on eligibility and the hiring process; it does not promise selection. Military service alone does not confer certification.

Credential authority: State officer standards commission / hiring agency. Requirements depend on the role and location. Military experience does not automatically grant a civilian credential.
